Welcome to Harry Potter Adventures. This site has actually been around for quite some time and those of you who were former members may remember it as a Marauder's Era site. It is still based in the Marauder's Era time frame, but after the Marauder's have graduated, in January of 1982.

At one time, this forum was open to advanced role-players only but now we are allowing all levels of role-playing as long as you are willing to meet the site standards (4-5 sentences).

The staff is friendly and helpful and wants everyone to be able to experience the fun of Role-Playing Harry Potter. If you are a returning member, please make sure to say so, as we would love to see some familiar faces, but of course new faces are always welcome.

We now have a new plot, which twists the timeline that Rowling created just a bit. You can read below:

1945

Bright bursts of light collided with each other, and for several long moments the duel lingered. Only the two wizards knew what they were dueling over, their purpose clear in their minds. Each knew the consequences and of what was to come; only one would survive. With the last flick of his wand in his own defense, Dumbledore fell to the ground, leaving the successful Grindelwald left standing. The wizard vanished and left no trace of his existence, and took with him what he wanted….

1981

A one year old Harry Potter lays sleeping in his bed, and as his mother Lily, walks up to his bedroom to check on him one last time before turning in herself, the loud crack of apparition can be heard throughout the house. Her eyes widening, she races up the stairs and into her son’s bedroom after yelling for James and comes face to face with Lord Voldemort. A few silent moments pass between them before James makes his way into the bedroom and takes a defensive stance. Voldemort makes his planned attack, and kidnaps both Lily and James. Leaving Harry to fend for himself, he disappears without a trace, to gather more enemies. Hagrid takes Harry to McGonagall who takes him to live with his Muggle relatives. Everyone assumes that Lily and James are dead, since no trace of them was found when their house was searched.

January of 1982

The magical community is in a state of shock at the news of James and Lily’s sudden disappearance, and after searches ended up with no results the Daily Prophet posted a sad obituary on the front page. The whereabouts of their son was kept secret, and most assumed that he was in hiding or with some wizarding family. With the news that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is still at large, most of the magical community has gone into hiding. Shops in Diagon Alley have shut down until further notice, wizarding villages and towns have boarded up houses in fear that the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters will attack. The Order of the Phoenix, now under the command of George Miller, the Minister of Magic, has made Hogwarts its headquarters.

The magical community has decided that Hogwarts must be the safe way to go since the Minister has taken residence there, and some have taken refuge and asked to stay there as well. As the school fills to it's capacity, tensions are high, students are grouchy, as well as professors. The Minister hates to turn anyone away though, as he knows he'll need everyone he can get on his side.

As the Order of the Phoenix prepares for an attack from You-Know-Who, classes at Hogwarts are still in session. McGonagall, the Headmistress, has decided that everyone should be ready, whether they are of age or not. The classes are geared toward defense and the use of spells in battle. Will the magical community be able to stand their ground and fight back?
