~KLOTECK OMEN~
About Kloteck Omen: (Written by Kahvie)
Kloteck Omen is a semi-realistic role play board based on the comic Kloteck Omen by Marit Wikstrom, a Swedish/Irish student and artist from Sweden, living in California. Below, a few things will be explained concerning the storyline, etc.
Basic Plot: Kloteck Omen takes place during the 1920s in a fictional area of Sweden, and focuses on the main characters and packs in the area, as well as their conflicts.
The beginning: When the comic begins, it is focused on Raknu, a diverse wolf pack that takes in dogs as well as other wolves, lead by an elderly alpha and his mate, Nightshade. However, when Nightshade was discovered to have a second mate and miscarried the alpha's litter, she was demoted to the rank of omega, and a young dog by the name of Kahvie was asked to take her place, more as a protector for the aging leader than a mate. Power hungry as she was, however, Nightshade eventually gathered a majority of the pack in secret, rising to power and seizing control of Raknu. With her first foe eradicated, Nightshade quickly turned on Kahvie, as well as the other dogs in the pack. Fearing harm to her kind, Kahvie pulled the dogs out of Raknu, a permanent exile from the now-renamed Sallin.
For the next year, the small canine pack of Synl existed without any opposition. However, Nightshade now has her eyes on the area, craving more power as Sallin grows, and creating a cold war between the two groups that threatens to escalate to more serious actions.
The setting:
Kloteck is set in the 1920s in an isolated area of Sweden. This means modern technology does not yet exist, and everything is very close to nature. We do have electricity, but it is rarely used in everyday life (fire is used for illumination, cooking, etc.). Sleds (fall and winter months) and carts pulled by canines and horses, as well as carriages, are the main way to travel long distances. Money is rarely used in the villages and ports, with crops and other goods taking the place of paper currency. Of course, many citizens in the Kloteck area are slowly trying to catch up, with many inventors running around and such, but again, it's going slowly. Isolation is the key to this, ayup. However, due to some outside intervention, cars are slowly being witnessed in the villages, as well as the occasional biplane overhead.
